Just been booked in for a recall

Post by Holmax » Tue Dec 08, 2009 12:26 pm

Hi guys,
I've just been called by my dealer to book an appointment for two recalls.
One is an engine management issue, they never actually told me what needed changing, and the second, a headlight issue, again that's all they told me. They want the car all day.
Does anyone know exactly what the issues are?
The car is a 2008 build. (gen 2 mmi).

Thanks nudenut,
The strange thing is I've never had an issue with the drl's but probably just a matter of time reading that.
I hope it will improve the headlight performance. Dipped beam is ok but main beam just illuminates the road signs more, it does'nt seem to give anymore reach down the road. It's been the one big thing that I have been unimpressed with on the car. I've maybe been spoilt with the headlights on my e class, but my wife's volvo v50 are way better than the audi's and they are not bi-xenon.
What is the software update addressing though? Hopefully it will give 50mpg! The best I've managed is 24mpg, and that was driving like st delicate of tippy toe!
I live out in the countryside so can't even blame it on town driving, but even taking it steady I only seem to get around 16mpg.

Have to say I've no issue with the headlights but then most night driving I do is on illuminated roads so not a good measure.

I already had the 1st flashed ECU update, Audi couldn't tell me what it was but I can say it didn't improve fuel economy!

Your figures seem comparable with mine
