RS6 Saloon - what should I pay? (posted in wrong cat DOH)

Post by DSLiverpool » Wed Oct 07, 2009 4:30 pm

Hi Guys

Im a CLS55 owner and looking at a RS6 saloon to replace it, I want a saloon and Im aware the RS6`s are sticking in the dealers ( not many but still sticking)

Im also aware Audi gave £30k a car to shift avants earlier in the year

On that basis what should I pay for a mildly specced ex demo 09 / 59 with 2800 miles on the clock

Any help much appreciated as I dont want to insult the dealer but I dont want to pay more than its worth

nb I ran it through webuyanycar and got £52k  are they really on such a downer ?

Ta
Dave

60k give or take looks to be the going rate at the moment. I'm not sure I'd say they were sticking, that was the case back in Dec/Jan, but the volumes now are nothing like they were then. I suspect the best deals have been had, there has been a little recovery in this market.

Audi did subsidise SOME cars for a short period of time, but it certainly wasn't to £30k, about a third of that and you'd be looking at the right number.

Thanks, I was thinking of £59k anyway as "seeming fair" but in all honesty it would be a PCP and the buy price is just one factor in the cost.

Audi subbed my Avant to the tune of £20k in May but at that time they were clearing Avants from stock & showsooms in favour of the Saloon.

As said, not the case now I feel, not so many about, Avants or Saloons.

I'd push hard though, I took it to MD of Audi UK (or so I was told) over a good few days/weeks of pushing the deal!!

Depending on spec / mileage (if ex demo) I'd go for £55k - good luck, you'll love the car!!

Hmm no dice on saloons, they will all talk about deals on Avants but not saloons, its either nearly what I want spec wise at £62k ish now or wait till new year and see what gets traded..
I dont think that many saloons have been sold so it may be a thankless task and the perfect one may not exist

Sounds like in Italy it is way more expensive!

I'm paying mine (which should be delivered this week) 116k+ €, hence approx. 107k+ £.
It has everything but the ceramic brakes.

Maybe you get it cheaper because you have the steering wheel on the wrong side

Yep, I know.

It is still cheaper than any comparable competitor (at least in my humble opinion), the Maserati Quattro is slower and smaller. The Porsche Panamera Turbo is smaller (and probably slightly slower). Anything else worth considering is pretty much a 2+2 seater. Impossible with wife, two kids and bags.
On the cheaper side, BMW M5 has been described by any dealer (not Audi dealers of course, multi brand) as impossible to re-sell and not really comparable in terms of ease of use and dependability (and I hate BMW electronics, I recently had a 535d full option and I'm not buying another BMW any time soon).
Mercedes AMG (at least in Italy) is for "older" people. Once I hit the sixties I'll consider moving to my father's brand

If only you drove on the right side of the road I could buy it there!!!
Will you ever get your pounds, gallons, feet, miles and whatever odd and bizarre custom you have back to sanity?! :D
