C6 to C5 ... and back to the C6

Post by Condor24 » Thu Aug 13, 2009 4:16 am

Driving the C6 around France for 6 weeks has been sheer pleasure .. the car has excelled in all respects including transporting a sofa. It was with some trepidation that I flew back to the UK for the weekend where I would be driving my C5. The V8 is now 6 years old with 38,000 miles & whilst she drove well, the C6 is a league above. I am now back in France enjoying the C6 .. more solid, far more power, much more accurate steering & it brings a much bigger smile to my face. The acceleration of the C6 is immensely quick, superb drive and massive braking power.

The only downside was that less than 24 hours of being back in France, I was overtaking on a very long clear country lane straight when the gendarme stepped out. They were so well concealed that no oncoming cars were flashing their beams (which is the norm). The gendarme knew my unbadged car was an RS6 & took €90 off me for recording 117 kmh on a 90 stretch.

Not bad for my first ever speeding offence in 20 years and no points !

Sorry to here that, cost you a refuel!!

Have to agree with all written though... the C6 is a potential Licence basher!
