Has anyone owned a 997 s ?
I'm confused.

I have just received my £5000 back as just cancelled.
I had a 997s, good car. Impossible to compare. 997s agile, RS6 more point and squirt.
RE: Re: 997s or New RS6
I own a 997s and from new the depreciation is also a problem. I paid £75K for mine and you can pick up a similar car 3 years old for £45K now. Thing is with a 911 - why bother about the depreciation as you will never want to sell it. I thought I would have mine for 3 months - now more than a year on and couldn't bear to part with it.

As someone has already said, it is almost impossible to compare a 911 and RS6 as, price and pace aside, they are just so different.
A decent spec RS6 is over £80k, so that's probably £5k+ more than a well-specced C2S (my C4S fell just under £80k).
As attractive as this car is, I think that it may only be worth £60k after 1 year, and at that point it looks a more attractive buy.
I cancelled my order as I felt the initial price was too great, currently have no need for a car of that size, and am having too much fun in my 911. In a years' time, I may need a more practical car, my 911 will be 3 years old, and then a used RS6 may make more sense.
Would be interested to hear the thoughts of current owners!
