RATFLAMO!! good call Norrs2

BMW M5

BMW are now copying Audi.. ie BMW said they wouldnt do the last M5 but Merc and Audi sales forced them to change their minds, then it was said an M5 Touring wouldnt be made....now we have one, the new M3 will have a Touring version of that.... because Merc and Audi do high performance estates. Looks to me BMW are loosing ground rapidly to Audi.
So a turbo charged M5 is ok in straight lines but not much use in the snow or bad weather...QUATTRO traction takes care of that... PERHAPS you should bin the M5 and get a BETTER car  :kissmyrings:

M5 is a great car. Lets see how the RS6 compares with the M5 round the track. Tiff will compare them im sure of it. I still think that M5 will edge it!

I wonder what the statistics are for the number of drivers who've crashed their M5 to that of RS6 owners?

Although we would love to think that we can drive like the stig & needle tiff, the reality of life is that we can't!
Present:...
Lotus Evora GT410 Sport, Caterham 420R, CCM Spitfire, VW T2 Bay Window 1976

Past:
DB11 AMR, 992, 991.2, Yamaha MT01, 640d Gran Coupe, 635d Coupe, RS6 C5, Audi TT 225 Coupe, Astra with wind up windows, Citroen ZX, Rover 213, yes behold, a Rover 213... Renault 5

I'm sure the M5 is a great car. It just looks awfull, similar reason why I dislike the Jag S-type R. Couldn't really care less about the track-ability of it as I wouldn't want to drive around with a paper bag over my head. At least when you are going round a track you can get away with wearing a crash helmet. ;-) Seriously, any difference in performance is going to be marginal if noticable at all in everyday conditions. Quattro makes far more sense to me especially with 500 Bhp+; the number of times it has saved my bacon - going up an icy incline to a roundabout etc. Besides, the RS6 interior (old or new) looks so much more classy, IMHO.

As for a track comparison, the M5 had better hope it's not wet.

Yup, pretty much sums up my feelings. :thumb: The RS6 will be a much nicer place to be.

the Stigmeister and Tiff dont have to pay to replace a set of rear tyres after a few laps of the circuit and like many other drivers NOT blessed with immortality I dont really WANT the arse end going around the corner first or trying to do just that. It might look good for a magazine photo shoot but anyone driving cars like that on the public road should have a night in a padded cell.

Besides the Audi is a country mile better for comfort and quality IMHO.

See the S5 -v- the 335i and only 0.6 seconds apart in favour of the BMW.... do it again on a soaking track.... what BMW? :?

i thought this site was for ppl who like cars and appreciate motorsport. Not ass kissing. And yes i do understand its an Audi site.
Matter of fact is 335 beat the S5, just. But it did even with a 6 cylinder and without the Quattro. I do appreciate the Quattro as it is useful BUT BUT it depends what people want and like. We all have different driving styles, skills and comfort requirements. RS6 vs M5 will be a joy to watch as they are both great cars. RS6 580bhp Quattro vs 507bhp M5 RWD - i cant wait!
