2011 S5 Mpg Vs 2012 S5 MPG

Post by sushisushi » Tue Jul 17, 2012 9:17 pm

Currently got a B7 S4 but I'm interested in the new v6t S5. I noticed that they used to say combined fuel consumption was around 24mpg on the v6 and now they say it's 36mpg combined!

Is this correct. If I sell the V8 I want to save on the fuel bill or else what's the point?!

Can anyone clear this up for me?

Mate had the S5 V6T and sold it as he was getting less mpg than the S5 V8 he had before.

Said his average was about 16mpg.

Look at my threads in S4 B8 forum on mpg. Same engine and I am getting brilliant mpg albeit I can't beat DK's record . . .yet!

Didn't Audi just recenly revise the mapping/charger/emissions (no sure which) of the V6T S4 to improve the CO2 rating and mpg, I think the 24mpg is probably for the phase 1 manual and the 36mpg is for the phase 2 s-tronic (no longer available as manual) which is able to perform better on the emissions/economy tests. I doubt you will achieve 36mpg in reality though.

Well I got 39 Bristol to Ipswich but I guess this is mainly extra urban as opposed to combined. 36 combined is unrealistic but then again all quotes in brochures are!

you're right the emissions are down from 224 to 190 on the facelift Stronic S4 also improved mpg .when i bought my S4 in 2010 AUDI were quoting a 27% efficency improvement over the B7 S4 V8.
