test drove one Saturday

Well, the cabin was beautiful, really stunning, the one I drove had red leather interior. Nice RNE E system with a smaller screen than the system in the B7 RS. I'm over 6ft 4 and once the seat was in it's lowest setting there's no problem in terms of head room although no way anyone could get in the rear seat when I had the seat all the way back. Kids with no legs maybe?

The key ignition system and handbrake is just plain wrong and should be kept on the Passat.

The drive well, I knew nothing about the engine or spec until after the drive but obviously worked out it had a V8 in it from the sound of the engine, but the first thing I noticed was how underwhleming it was to drive. the engine felt so flat to m, completely throughout the rev range. Even at 6-7k revs it didn't deliver that rush that the B7 V8 does. it felt so stifled.

I threw it into some corners and get some nice twitchiness out of it and it certainly felt sure footed enough, but for 45k money I'd be gutted that I hadn't gone for the RS4.

As soon as I jumped back in mine I knew why it felt slow and stifled!

Bring on the RS5 and let's see how it's meant to drive!
