Horrible gear change

Post by Nickyboy » Sun Jun 02, 2013 7:44 pm

Occasionally when I put foot down and change using the paddles from 1st to 2nd I get a very violent and clunky gear change. It really doesn't feel pleasant.

As the set up is the same can any B8 S4 owners relate to this?

Anyone else had this? I have a 2013 S5 btw.
2014: 8V S3, Scirocco (mistake)

My mirrors are playing up as well. They tilt on their own whilst driving sometimes as well.

Audi aren't going to like to hear from me again.

Was this happening before you did the mods?

Yes. Could lowering it make a difference?

It shouldn't really should it but there are some electronic controls systems that it may have thrown some parameter out?

Hopefully your dealer is comfortable about mods and won't look for any excuse

My BMW dealer was ok unless specifically related.

Can anyone shed any light on why this could be happening?

I doubt very much it has anything to do with the modifications you have done to the suspension and sounds more like a gearbox issue...if its repeatable, take it down to your dealer

My S4 doesn't do it ,as DK says i don't think its anything to do with the mods and if its happens a lot take in to the dealer and get them to sort it .

Cheers guys. I'm popping in for the umpteenth time tomorrow. I just hope it repeats it self. Driving it today it the down changes from 2nd to 1st were lumpy as well.

Glad I haven't remapped it.

Took it to the dealer and couldn't replicate it so for now the advice is to keep an eye on it and monitor the car.
