The modding begins
The modding begins
Having just spent 48k on a new S5 I have realised that it needs serious modding. I guess 48k isn't enough to spend to get the car I want Myabe I should have just bought a used RS. Hindsight and all that.
It's incrdible to think of the amount of money we have spent between us all making these cars what we want them to be.
My first mods will be going on my new S5 on Wednesday. That will be the first two down with many to go. List is as follows:
1. Spacers - put on this week
2. Coilover lowering kit - going on Weds to complete the stance look I want
3. 20 inch alloys
4. Bigger brakes
5. RS5 grill
6. RS5 front bumper so I can do the matt aluminium front splitter optics (it should look awesome with the phantom black paint). I had considered matt aluminium wrap on the current front bumper but theres no obvious place to stop like it does on the RS.
7. Remap.
8. Some sort of exhaust to crank up those throttle blips (I want to keep the stock looking tailpipes though).
9. Some sort of induction as I want to hear that supercharger.
10. TBD
11. TBD etc etc
I will get some pics up on Wednesday afternoon when the ride height should be spot on.

Re: The modding begins
Lovely. That's what I want!
My figures above are actually wrong, the mrs reminded me (and gave me grief about it! Apparently I'm not allowed an RS after just getting the S5). 48k is list price. Audi gave me £8500 deposit contribution and cleared the extra depreciation on the S4 (which also needed tyres, service and tax).
So in reality it was £8500 from Audi £1500 S4 consumables and £3000 extra depreciation. Doesn't seem so bad now.
Either way for an extra 7k list price could have a ready to go RS.

Re: The modding begins
Thing is with no deposit of my own I couldnt (at the time) afford an RS plus I can afford the 39k in payments but can't afford around 50k worth of payments. By the time I'm 30 hopefully my pay would have gone up enough to afford this. Trouble is the government and student loan company make sure my net never increases drastically.535dboy wrote:Even so....
Until then bring on the mods. Plus if I had an RS I know I'd be modding that as well.

Yep. The RS needs a zorst, h&R springs, spacers, buckets, V-spokes etc etc
Re: The modding begins
Saw the RS5 cab yesterday. Compared to the coupe it looked like it needed a few mods. Didn't seem as aggressive. Did your RS have sports exhaust as an option?D_K wrote:Yep. The RS needs a zorst, h&R springs, spacers, buckets, V-spokes etc etc
