New to forum, you don't appear to have many sportback owners on here! Just wondered if anyone one had any issues with alloys. I have a nine month old sportback on 20 inch rims which has covered 10,000 miles. About 6/12 in it developed a vibration through the steering above 60 mph. It has just been serviced and the dealer informed me to my astonishment that three out of the four wheel are buckled with flat spots in the inner aspect of the rims.
Audi tech @ Milton Keynes state that this is due to my 'driving style' and road conditions - potholes , kerbing and speed bumps. This was never an issue with my previous RS4, so I contacted customer service on the advice of the dealer. Needless to say I have got nowhere and find their explanation is total rubbish. I suspect these rims and tyres combinations are not fit for purpose on UK roads but could not get them to admit it. Any one else had similar issues? Quoted replacement cost for three new rims is £2.5k!

Re: S5 Sportback alloy angst
I don't know anything about the S5 wheels specifically, but if you've just been driving normally the wheels should be able to take it, i.e. they are not fit for purpose. Would obviously help if you can find others in the same situation but I would definitely be taking things further with Audi UK.
