ISOFIX anchors can't connect to child seats

Help just picked up a 2007 S6 Avant in Black and it's fab but having real problems connecting my boys child seats to the ISOFIX anchors. The leather on the rear seats between where the seat base and back rest joins is so tight I can push my fingers through and touch the ISOFIX anchors but pushing the prongs on the child seat bases through the 'gap' in the seats is very difficult. It feels like the prongs will damage the leather if I force them through. I have tried some Audi ISOFIX guides (little square plastic things) but they're not much help. It was no problem on my A4 Avant 2.0TFSI S-Line but a real pain on the S6. Does anyone have any suggestions otherwise it's down to Reading Audi or a call and a drive back to Fontain in Iver :?

Probably just a sign they've never been used - they are likely to be quite tight to start with. Might be worth getting an assistant to spread the leather while you work the guides into place - at least then you know the prongs won't do any damage. I can't use guides on my S8 as the side airbags get in the way, so I have to gently push the prongs between the seat back and base and I've never had an issue with damaging the leather. The prongs on mine are plastic coated so as long as they're more or less lined up when you start it really shouldn't be an issue.

If you were nearer I'd offer to fit for you, but I'm down by Gatwick. Child seats are a professional speciality of mine :)
