Hi all after some advice my car was in the garage today for a routine check over while the undertray was off they noticed coolant around the alternator area ,they described it as a slight drip with the body on of the alternator around the sides could this be a header tank issue all advice much appreciated

Sorry for delay - I suspect you may have already had it seen to by how but yes the likley culprit is the header tank. I can't remember what side the Alternator is but I was getting a fair flow out from under the tray on the right hand side. I was looking as much as I could from the top and it looked dry there so don't let that fool you.

The fortunate aspects to this is: a) the tank itself is not particular to the car so will not take ages to get the part, and b) if its not the header tank its the thermostat which is easy to get to from underneath on the passenger side at the front of the engine.

Keep us posted...

Thanks for the reply, found the leak it's definitely coming out the back of the alternator so have placed a order for a replacement one to be fitted
