Hi,
After what feels like ages i've had my new to me S6 delivered!
It's great car, certainly needs a tad more noise but needs to still be acceptable for when I attend client meetings etc.
Plans are a decoke, then ECU map and gearbox map.
The Mmi needs to be updated, I can't get my iPhone 6 to connect to it, or even find it in the menu. Is this a case of buying an update disc from the likes of eBay or Audi then updating from there?
I'll also want to play spotify through the car so I need a decent interface for that, what's best?
Thanks
Ant

Re: Just bought myself an 07 S6
I have one and it took a little time for me to work it out how to connect your phone
I have to set up the phone through Bluetooth first to recognise the car
The car then recognises the new phone and you will need to put in the code in your interface
Hope it helps

You should be easily able to grab MMI update discs. There's 3 of them and there was a polish guy online somewhere who has a site for various things and I think I remember seeing the download was available there for free. The DVDs go in the Satnav tray in the boot so make sure, for a start, that the eject button works - it is locked for shipment and mine hadn't been and needed someone with VCDS to unlock it. Mine also had the original 2006 Satnav disc in - surprising how may mini-roundabouts have been made since then...
Anyway - I haven't tried the update but there appeared to be plenty of comments saying it had worked - I think the difference depends on the quality of the discs. Someone on here might have them already - alternatively, I'm guessing a service at some places includes checking the MMI software and updating if required.
The MMI connects to the phone easily after that - but it doesn't see it as an audio device. There was the ipod adaptor that either came as a factory/dealer spec or you coudl buy something like a Dension interface - it plugs into the back of the unit and fools it into thinking the 6-disc changer is now a 12-disc changer the other 6-discs being choices for the ipod (ie Disc 7 is Play Artist, Disc 8 is Play Playlist etc. etc.). I just have an old ipod nano plugged in and forgotten about but I don't think there is an interface that lets you start using spotify and searching/streaming. I may well be wrong but I'm just guessing that the firmware on these adators isn't geared for utilising a function, just accessing the memory that is on the device.
