Brake ducts

Post by barryrs » Sat Nov 21, 2015 5:18 pm

Further to Ross's post here viewtopic.php?f=47&t=114989

I had the brake ducts fitted today and apparently it was extremely easy and all that was required was to elongate the bottom hole to allow the bolt to line up correctly.

Hopefully they will help with disc life as I'm on my third set in 4 years of ownership.

Forgive my uselessness... I assume these are to direct airflow directly to the discs etc or similar is it for extra cooling?

Apologies for late repy Av4nt - yep these are just to capture a little more air and shove it on the back of the disc. Always a good idea in case a bit of heavy braking is needed (its not a light car) especially if you're thinking of doing the odd bit of trackdaying like you said in another post.

Great simple mod - pleased to have helped :)

I actually have a set of backplates and ducts brand new never fitted (as they're not a direct fit to the B8 and I was looking at fitting them to that) so if anyone wants them, I'm a PM and a haggle away...
