hey
so was driving home from work yesterday in my s6, and after driving the same route a few days last week in my other one (a skoda combi with 18's) i realised that I finally don't really like the far too hard suspension on the 6.
having had a c5 rs6 with coilovers, I dont want to go back there, and i dont want to drop the car either as its sitting nicely on stock springs.
is it the shock causing the rock hard ride or is it the spring or a combination of the two? and are there viable, softer suspensions out there that can handle the wieght?
t
suspension options?
Re: suspension options?
Probably a combination of the two. I remember reading reviews of the S6 when it came out, and the complaint that the stock suspension was too hard was common.
Most coilovers will sit at a maximum height that lower the car. What you probably need are just better damped shocks.
Koni FSD would be perfect for you, but I dont think they have an S6 fitment.
Koni adjustables would also be good, but I couldnt find them either.
Maybe Bilstein Pss9s or KW v3 are your answer, with some kind of spacer to raise the height if you feel they arent high enough. They are expensive though, so if you can get a ride in someones car who has them before you buy, then that would be ideal.
Good Luck!

Re: suspension options?
Can get you adjustable KW springs that retain the standard shocks
Cheaper than buying a complete coilover kit.

Re: suspension options?
actually are the stock shocks purple by any chance? had a look at mine today and turns out they are purple which I was not expecting.
Re: suspension options?
Purple shocks? No, definitely not stock
Please post pics so we can help to identify. Close ups of any stampings or labels, if possible

so had a better look today and they are actually red. according to audi the stock ones are black, so these arent oem.
who makes red shocks that fit audis then?

Re: suspension options?
so I got a wheel off over the weekend and apparently audi do. hmmm. it had the audi cover at the top of the shock, and a large Sticker saying "3A" towards the bottom of it so looks like they are stock
