Flat Battery

Post by 801 » Fri May 23, 2014 3:57 pm

Does anyone have any tips on keeping a battery charged when the car is not used often?

I have an optimate 4 battery charger and i suppose i could remove the battery and leave it charging but it's a pain to keep removing it. The car is on the road all the time so difficult to charge with the battery in place. Will be building a crossover but not for a while.

Has anyone used one of these?

Thanks

Anyone have any tips on replacing the battery in an S6 (C6)?

The original battery is still in the car. It's a Varta.

Battery is now completely flat so I purchased one from eurocarparts, who have supplied me with the wrong battery (despite their website saying otherwise).

I understand I need one of these:

to replace the existing battery, but assume it could be one of these...

Do I need any specialist equipment to just swap them over? I read somewhere that I need to code the battery to the car? Would that be necessary if replacing with a Varta or Bosch of the same part. no as the original, i.e. 610-402-092?
