I was talking to an Audi dealer the otherday and they said that lots of S3's had been delayed because of the demand for bucket seats.

Hass anyone actually taken delivery of a car with them. I think they are a must.

I don't think the demo I had a go in had them! Suppose they are something else to make an S3 stand out from a normal A3 S line.....

Oh yeah Image

They are very nice! But if you secretly want the daddy (RS4), you'll soon get bored....in my opinion of course;) But, having said that, I'd like an RS4 and still love my S3!

If someone offered me a new RS4 for my S3 and one of my kidneys I'd do it without a second though. I'd love an RS4. My ultimate 'do it all' kind of car that you can drive without looking like you're having a midlife crisis. Everytime I see one I cringe with envy.

As for the seats, I hadn't heard they were hard to come by, our dealer said that any car is now on a waiting list until September 07 regardless of spec, so they may be using it as an excuse. Hard to say, but may be worth checking with a few dealers before coming to a final conclusion.

I have ordered one for the wife less than a month ago, been in to the dealers since and the build date for the car is the 16th April. I (or should i say the wife!) havent specced the bucket seats. I have them in my RS4 and on long journeys find them a little uncomfortable because of my size if you are thin they will be great!
i dont think they are worth the extra cash either as you dont get the inflatable side bolsters!

I had a sprint blue car for the Mrs which had buckets. Just swapped it for a black one (she didnt like the colour) which doesnt have the buckets. Personally while i love the look of the buckets I think the normal seats are better for everyday use and a necessity if you want access to, and to be able to actually sit in, the rear seats.

The car is fantastic in black, in my opinion a bit plastic looking in the blue. I have 19" 5-arms on the black one, it transforms the appearance but spoils the ride somewhat.
A mate of mine who is a prominent historic racing driver, and who rarely gives credit to any modern road car, had reason to borrow it the other day and declared it to be 'a brilliant little car'....
