Had a test drive in a sprint blue S3 yesterday, I liked it (Halesowen Audi, junction 3 M5)

Road noise less than mine. Sweet exhaust note, especially at high revs! Some reviews have said it sounds like it is over worked at high revs, I thought it sounded ace, kinda like a Type R Civic on full song

The traffic was heavy, so couldn't give it too much, but the one island I could, it handled ace!

Was only out about 30 mins, so couldn't really get a feel for it

The sales man didn't seem to thing they would sell many, he said this woule help residuals ..... not sure I agree with that! Surely if there is little demand, build times should be shorter......?

The doesn't stand out in the slightest, you could quite easily walk past it and not notice it..... is that good, I'm not sure For £30k, you'd want people to notice it .......

PS I took a pic on my phone, will try to add here when I have sorted out a bluetooth dongle.

I think the not standing out will be it's biggest let down. For me anyway...

I'm thinking M3 ....... but not sure how they compare price wise yet! Also, not sure if I want something a lot faster than my current car.

What can you get for £30k with 5.0 secs to 62mph...?

When we commented about the styling being very subtle, he said that he has a tip from a senior Audi guy that is like that because they will be doing another version, ie RS3 .............

He also said they are doing an A3 cabriolet ..............

We'll wait and see if they do make an RS. I don't think so myself

Looks too much like an Astra convertable for me

I like it, would be even better with an S or RS on the rear

At the moment, depending on age, they seem to be somewhere between 20k and 25k. Now's probably the time to buy as the market seems a little depressed at the moment with the new B7 out - could well be once the fuss has died down that the market will get stronger again.

Trust me, you'll struggle to have more fun at that price on 4 wheels with space for 4 adults.
