How can a £30k hatchback thats been allowed to wear the S badge have been allowed to be so 'something and nothing'.
I've been dying for this car to come out and blitz the current crop of hot hatches, and as per usual I'm left looking quizzical thinking whats this all about then. The people in the Audi design centre / motorsport divisions need a bloody good shake up, none of the S series models are anywhere close to their sporting prententions.
I'm furious as they have watered down the quality at the Leon Cupra end of the scale, the Golf GTi/R32 are fun but not quite enough, and this is a let down by comparison to the Golfs.
I've never thought I'd see the day when it would be so hard to find a highly focussed German-ish sports hatch for £30k.

Another disappointing review
Thought the write up was very chatty and unprofessional, sounded like something from Max Power, anyway.
Has anyone drove an A2, is that a complement to the gear shift or not?

I took a punt and ordered a phantom black S3 last night, due for delivery on 01 March 07. Good news was that there is a new bluetooth telephone prep kit which works through the DIS and will be on my car, as well as a revised range of head units and the Symphony has finally dropped the tape deck! Like you say, the review was borderlining on unprofessional so I've hedged my bets. We're trying to get out to Germany in the next week or so to see if we can get a look at a left hooker. If we don't like it we can at least change for something else.
