Well the website quotes "New A3 range performance flagship expected to open for UK ordering in early September – first UK customer deliveries scheduled for January 2007".

Order books opened this week according to threads on tyresmoke from people who have ordered - customer cars expected Dec/Jan - Some are saying demos here by November

I am hoping to go to the dealers and place my order today for the new S3. However I am pretty unhappy that for the UK market the S3 will NOT be available with the 18" variant of the current RS4 style alloys that have been flaunted in most of the press photographs. In Germany they are an option, in the UK you have some half arsed 7 spokes which look like they should have been an upgrade alloy on a 1.6 model.

Supposedly Aston Audi in Reading, Berkshire will have an S3 demo car on site on the 9th of November, but it will not be available for customer mauling, its more of a dealer awareness campaign which is a shame for those looking to pre-order.

I take exception to paying £31k for a fair specced hatchback, so it had better be a damn good car when it arrives. It seems the only logical step up from what I have, but I am frightened it will leave me numb like the S4 I drove as a demo car last week. I'm almost tempted to go to Germany to see if I can get a test drive in advance of UK launch.
