Econ button light stuck on.

Post by infrasilver » Fri Nov 26, 2010 6:38 pm

I have had the Econ button light on for a few weeks and the air con is not blowing ice cold. I thought it might need a re-gas and I was not in a rush as I won't need it for a few months.

I decided to give it a scan today to make sure and below came up as the faults.
I cleared the faults and re scanned but they DTC's stayed.

Can anyone shed any light on what is wrong apart from the obvious and where the fault is located as I will fix them myself if I can find them.

Thanks in advance.

Ross Tech Wiki doesn't cover the first code, but helps a bit on the second

http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/00819

Strangely enough, if you search on "Defroster" rather than 00710 you get a link to fault code 00603 but the reference says 710B, so I guess they are related

I will get a new sensor and I'll take it in to a re-gas place and see what they think in case it does also require a re-gas.

I forgot to look on RT Wiki myself, it such a long time since I have used my VAGCOM it never crossed my mind.

as you already know no doubt, ECON light not turning off means there's a fault which wont allow compressor to engage.
