Any ebay cables let you clear fault codes?

I have full paid ross tech software but cant stretch to the $350 at the moment for the original cable, plus its an emergency driving to Amsterdam Wednesday!

I have a genuine Ross-Tech serial cable without a dongle. If you are sure that it's your software that's licensed (newer cables all have a dongle - hardware which stores the license), this should work fine for you.
Saying that, licensed software should in theory work with the eBay cables to.

Some (most) of the eBay cables only work with older versions of VAG-COM either 3.11 or 4.09 see

Don't think any cables other than the genuine Ross-Tech cables with dongles work on anything later than 409.1

There are some eBay cables that (briefly!) work with a hacked version of the 6xx version of VAG-COM.
