Battery Change

Posted this on S4 forum, suggested I try here

Changed the battery a few days ago after an unexpected failure. The S4 has a couple of problems since.

Air bag light comes on after about 4 miles, goes out again when ignition is turned off and on again.

The #1 trip computer has dissapeared completly, #2 is there, but when i try to scroll through to get trip 1 data, its not there at all.

I did perform the Key syncro after fitting the new battery, so everything else is fine.

Any thoughts is it a trip to the dealer or purchase VAG-COM.

S4 2003-b6

If I purchased Vag, as a novice, would I be able to clear these Faults or does it take some experience to get into VAG ?.

Cheers Steve

Try looking at the label file on the Ross-Tech wiki here http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/downlo ... xx-8EC.lbl

It looks like you need to modify the value in adaptation channel 19 of address 17 from x0xxx to x1xxx.

Thanks mate you were spot on. all sorted now :D . Dont know what the cost at the dealer would have been to resolve these two faults, but think that the VAG-COM has paid for itself already. Thanks again.
