Whats the difference between a DTC code which is a 35-00 reading and a 35-10 apart from the obvious?

i.e. how does the 'system' differentiate, or rather what is the criteria to determine one from the other?
Pnnnn - 35-00 - -
Pnnnn - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

Thought it just meant intermittent, but that seems too obvious with the word by it!

Yep, I'm just trying to understand how frequently a fault condition needs to occur to be determined as Intermittent (35-10), or a complete failure (35-10)

As far as I know an "intermittent" fault has to be logged three times to be classed as "intermittent" but complete failure is logged when the fault comes and stays.
