Hi All,
I have a A6 4.2 V8 which is throwing fault codes 17545/P1137.
After an evening session on a computer I need some help to interpret the results?
On the O2 sensors on both banks sensor one and two are reading active,
But three and four are both reading dormant? Is that correct?
What is my EVAP is that the same as an EGR?
I need any sort of help to cure these faults and would prefer to stay away from the Main Dealer in Northampton,
Any help gratefully recieved.
Thank you in advance
Jeremy

RE: Fault Codes 17545 Fuel Trim too rich
the fault is at idle,do you have vag com. if so watch the add ( or short term) fuel trim while spraying carb cleaner around the intake system after the air flow meter, pay particular attention to the small vaccum hoses. it would also help to check your afm (or maf) by doing a log run,(you should find the info on here). its more than likley one of these but to go in furtther will need an osciliscope and some proper training.
shame you not nearer to me as we can do this for you a a very reasonable rate.( he says plugging his buisness!!!!) the two lambda sensors after the cat are only a reference point to check the condition of your cat.

i had some high fuel trims a while back when Gordon Vag-Commed my S4, turned out it was down to using just any old fuel, switched to V-Max or Tesco 99 and the issue has gone. what fuel are you putting in it? could be it's just not up to the job so the ECU is helping you out by putting in more fuel to compensate

Did you read the related fuel trim page too and checked the measuring blocks for the values in question?
