Anyone ever seen this code on their car? "torque limit exceeded" is the gist of what comes up in vag-com (can't remember the rest of what it says)

It's a real blinder! Kills the car stone-dead instantly

It's happened to me 4 times now in the past week or so - once at 80mph in 6th gear at around 3-3.5Krpm on the A34, pitch black and in a queue of traffic - scary!

Anyone from ross-tech or a vag-com expert know what might cause this ....???!!! Aaaarrgghhh!

Did a quick Google and it seems that other K04 upgraded cars experience the same DTC. Here for example:

They're saying that it may be that the torque excedes the system limits. Could be cods, I don't know. Maybe if you did a bit more googling you may come up with something (I did '17743 torque').

Hope you get it sorted, sounds a PITA.

Thanks Mike - me and Doug googled it yesterday and found what you found - I was more after a proper techy explanation as to what might cause the "killer code"!!!

Nah - I think I've lost my graphs from the RR day already! Unless by "torque graph" you mean my knob, in which case I don't need any excuse to get that out ...

PHEW! Thank f*ck for that Mihnea!!! Was getting somewhat disconcerting and causing a fair degree of anxiety every time I needed to change into 5th or 6th - didn't know whether the thing would die or not! Thanks!
