How to calibrate MPG display after bigger injectors?

Post by CliveH » Sat Nov 03, 2007 7:58 pm

This question remains unresolved from a previous thread (which should probably have been moved to the VAG-COM section)
http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... ic&t=65560

viperbl and I have MPG differences (actual vs DIS) which, if we made adjustments using the adaptation function (channel 3), would go off the end of the scale (permitted range 85 to 115). Hence this doesn't work for such large discrepancies (well mine is still about 5% out after entering the lowest value of 85).

Oddly enough, we are at opposite ends of the scale after fitting bigger injectors

There are posts in the other thread which suggest that the adaptation is just for minor calibration, whereas there is a more fundamental setting to change, which takes account of the larger injectors.

It seems that this may be one for Uwe or Sebastian, although it is rumoured that Mihnea may also hold the key... :sekret:

Clive, give us a shout and next time you see me or Doug you'll get an updated file. The MPG is adjusted on all our files but sometimes it's still off... :(

Agreed, like S2tuner said in terms of mods like yours the best option is to talk to your tuner. The instrument cluster just deals with what the ECU tells it and that should be somehow within a reasonable range, otherwise an adjustment is not possible.
