here is what i have:

1 Fault Found:

17861 - Exhaust Gas Temp Sensor 1 (G235): Open or Short to Plus
P1453 - 35-00 - -

Readiness: 0000 0000
VAG-COM Version: Release 704.1
Data version: 20071016

should i be overly concerned? The reason i say this is because the car is running really well, peak MAF of 260 and no loss of boost.

how quickly should i have this sensor changed?

What car is it?

Whenever I get this fault code the car goes into limp mode so I'm surprised yours hasn't.

I assume you have checked actual vs spec boost to confirm this?

sorry, its an S4 (b5). I have logged the actual/spec boost and its all fine. Are there any other blocks that i can measure to help shed some light on this? The car is pulling like a train at the mo but i would like to know if something is about to let go.

Maf of 260 is very high for a std car so I assume not std?

nope - a little MRC tweaking - custom remap and a custom backbox.

I would just change the egt then.

G235 is the driver's side one which is pretty easy to change.
