Airbag Controller 15

message as follows: Excessive comms error.. By the way the Airbag light is on in the dashboard.
Any ideas ????

What car?

Not sure if it is that exact code that gets thrown, but on the B5 it is common for the connection under the seat to cause the airbag light. Remove, clean, refit an clear the code and see if it stays away. Or just rest and see if it stays awa like mine has.

Sorry!! B5 RS4 2000. Any particular connector under the seat ? Had a brief look there seems to be loads :shock:
btw Am using vagcom 704.1 if that helps.

What interface are you using? Anything special we should know about the car (e.g. mods) or the computer you are using (e.g. a MAC running an emulated Windows)?

A KEY series interface, on IBM T43 laptop with windows XP. My car has the MTM stage 3 if that makes any difference?

Is communications stable with the other systems in your car (Engine, ABS, Instruments, etc?). I.e. is the airbag module the only one that gives you problems, or are you having issues with all the systems in the car?
