Alarm Beep and Auto Lock... (Can't get it working..)

I must be doing something wrong here, using the shareware version of 409.1 and trying to add the codes 32 + 1024 in
the code there currently is 06325, so from what I have read I need to add those numbers on to that? So re-enter the number as 07381 ?
It's a 2000 S4 with Symphony head unit, any ideas?
Cheers,
Dave

I couldn't get the alarm beep on mine.
So i'm not entirely sure if its possible. I checked on ELSA (Workshop manual), and there was no value listed for alarm beep. Unless someone else knows different.
But you could for the time being at least add the 32, and get auto lock/unlock. This works no problems.
This is based on a 2001 RS4

alarm beep and autlocking work fine on mine. something to check though, it'll only beep if the door switches confirm the doors, boot and bonnet are actualy closed and locked. might be worth checking that the switches are working properly. it could be you've enabled it and it's trying to tell you something is "open" by not beeping
or your alarm sounder is dead

Sussed it.... It's me being a reject! lol
The Software code was 13130 So I added 1024 + 32 to that...
Had a beer or two so couldn't drive anywhere to test the locking but it beeps on alarm now! lol (it's more of a chirp than an horn beep)

Mine all sorted, it does seem to be a chirp and also sounds like it comes from the rear of the car???

That's where the alarm sounder is - bolted to the edge of the boot-well on the right hand side

Sorry to hi-jack your thread....
I also have the Concert Symphony system.
On my remote, i have a button for what looks like the boot release but it doesn't work, any ideas ??
The codes on AW are for USA cars.
My current code is 13166
Also, my beep doesn't work... but i have a feeling its the horn as i'm getting a fault code for that and when i unplug and plug it back in, the horn makes a weird noise.

Sounds like the backup battery on your alarm horn needs replacing - not surprising on a B5.
The boot release button puzzles me - is that usual on the remote for a B5?

Is the battery within the alarm horn ?
How come its not powered by the loom ??

I have one on mine and it works fine. Doesn't throw the boot open of anything just gives a small pop so you can lift without using the soft touch button

It's a BACKUP battery within the alarm horn - for when the main battery goes flat OR ... is disconnected by someone attempting to steal your car by towing it away!

i'm not convinced that back up battery is the correct term. if it was a back up only then the alarm would still work if the battery was Donald. when i checked mine i found a permanent 12v feed to the alarm which i took to be a supply to charge the battery. i think the battery is actually the primary power supply for the alarm and that's why we get the "no communication with alarm sounder" fault, when the internal batteries go faulty because effectively there is no power to the alarm. if the car battery was the main power source then as long as there was 12v present at the alarm it'd still work.
my god i need to get out more...............lol

replaced my siren yesterday so at least the alarm makes some noise now when it goes off.
Anyone near Epsom fancy plugging in their VAG COM and putting on the auto lock and alarm beep feature for me?
