Brake Pad warning light!!

Post by flashyg » Wed Jun 13, 2007 10:07 pm

Don't think this has been covered here.

Now and then as pads wear you create a circuit as the pad is worn.

I run a different brake system to stock and shorted these connections on the front to avoid warnings.

Its fine it works no issues.
But as these are wires now and then a fault can occur.
So it would be great to know if vag will be specific to which wheel has got an open circuit.

How do you log into Vag com to find out which pad the warning relates to?

The brake pad wear is monitored by the instrument cluster only and if there is a short or similar a fault code will not been thrown.

On my S3, I only had to short out one set of wires on the passenger side, and the rears dont have a warning!
