Auto door lock?

Car's in today at Camberley Audi.
Can they program the doors to lock automatically when the car starts moving and if so is this something that is chargeable?
Going to phone them today to ask but wanted to know from you guys what was involved first.
Don't want.......
"yes sir, we can do that. It'll cost you £98 + vat"
And then you tell me it's something i can do or it's a 5 Min's job and it shouldn't cost much if anything at all.
Thanks in advance

Certainly something you can have. I have it on mine. They will probably charge you, but yes it is a 2.5 minute job so laugh in their faces if they quote anything more than 20 quid.

Dulwich Audi and most other Audi dealer should do this free of charge .... its a 1min job simple with VAG-COM.

Have to say though .... the most unpleasant thing about Audi ownership is the Audi stealers ... just because you own a RS model they feel they can rip you a new a-hole.

One click on key fob opens drivers door only (useful if you suspect someone may car jack you from passenger side when getting into car!??!!?), two clicks opens all doors and boot

Ask for 'Anti Hijack'. This does three things, beep on lock, lock all doors above 10kph and unlock drivers door only on one press of the fob. This takes 2 mins with VAG-COM so why they should charge anyone beats me.

I've got partly that as I am clearly very lazy, one click to unlock all instead of using my thumb muscle twice, but auto lock once I drive off.

What really screws up the brain cell of a tea leaf is to have the lock removed from the drivers door. I had this done on the RS4 and RS6+.

Got the car back and they had done what i asked and it wasn't charged for. (didn't get the 1 click drivers door, 2 click all doors, just the auto door lock)
Camberley Audi Service are very friendly and nothing seemed to be too much. They knew what they were talking about and if they couldn't answer a question they would ask a hands on person for the answer.
Even the car clean was done with top marks. (loved the air freshener

)
I'd recommend Camberley Audi 100% (Going on the Service I've had so far)

Be warned that on cars built before July 2003. there is a firmware fault in the central locking controller which causes the lock on speed function to fail after an indeterminate time. I had the controller replaced under warranty.

Agree with Peter ... my 52 plate saloon had the same issue with the auto locking function. It would work for a few months fine and then stop for no apparent reason. After a week of it not working it would suddenly spring back into life for a few days before stopping again. I used to drop by my local Audi garage to get them to reset it with their diagnostic equipment ... only took a couple of minutes but interesting no error codes came up. Eventually I persuaded them to replace the control unit under warranty and have had no problems since.
It's not something for you to worry about, but the auto locking is a really nice feature and it's annoying not to have it working. You might be fine with your vehicle.
Rich.
