Had someone plug their vag com in to my 98 s4 and it came up with this:-
18010 power supply to term 30 voltage 2 low p1602-35-10 intermittent exhaust gas temp sensor.

Does this mean my EGT's are fooked?

None of the numbers you've posted have anything to do with the EGT sensor.

Are you sure you're not stringing two fault codes together and skipping the numbers from the second fault?

Using VAG-COM?
- If so, is there chance you're using some dodgy version gotten someplace other than our website?
- - If so, you might want to download and install a fresh copy from our download page.
- - - If it still shows that, make a screen-shot and e-mail it to me please.

The car will struggle to enrich on high boost.
It is not difficult to fix and many many cars run on broken egts.
Some cars go to limp some don't.
egt failure can also be as a result of lean running and manifold failure.
Vag is essential

Log block 111
Log block 2
log block 20
Log block 32 aslo

and get codes.

Egt code will usually mean its broken not a big issue dont worry.
Simply find out the bank 1 or 2 order the part bank 2, is a bit more difficult.

Hope this helps

Ok thread jacking time

I have just run a scan and got back this code

Address 01: Engine
Part No: 8D0 907 551 D
Component: 2.7l V6/5VT 01 0002
Coding: 05711
Shop #: WSC 06325

1 Fault Found:
17867 - Exhaust Gas Temp Sensor 2 (G236): Implausible Signal
P1459 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
Readiness: 0000 0000

Is it time to reach for the wallet and dent the plastic or am I safe for the moment. I have cleared the code but not had a chance to nip out for a spin and see if the fault comes back

Thanks in advance

Mike
