Well finally got round to hooking the car up to VAG-COM yesterday and pulled the DTC's. Perhaps Doug or Minhea could confirm that the charge pressure fault is nothing to be worried about.

Will look into doing some logging next. The acceleration module looks like fun. Will be trying that out when I get a chance.
Does anyone know if there is a PDA version of VAG-COM?

I don't think VAG-COM is compatible with mobile versions of windows yet, but would be great if it was

The last three are quite common and mine has always done them. The alram went off usually when car is left with someone in it. Key 3 adaption is usually caused because key fob battery is running low. Central Locking Pump run time is also common. Mine does it every now and again. Doors lock and unlock OK so never bothered with it.
First one is generally caused by a boost leak or a re-map that causes throttle cut.

I use a Fujitsu Siemens Stylistic PDA, perfect with vag com
Only error of issue is over-boost.
Logging will help,

can anyone explain what "Central Locking Pump run time" is?

the length of time the central locking pump has to run before creates enough vaccum to lock the doors, it's a common fault code, had it a few times on mine, just cancel it and don't worry

hmmm interesting, my car does seem to take ages to lock the doors, much longer than any other car I have had. Will cancelling the error code fix this or do I need new pump?

Clearing the error code wont fix the problem, but it will tell you whether it's an intermittent or permanent problem - ie if it doesnt recur after you've cleared it, then it was a one-off.

could be a damaged vac line, mine locks quite promptly, press the button and it's locked

Max charge pressure could be bypass valves or MAF - clear the codes and see if it comes back!

Cheers Nige. As the car is running K04's etc I wondered if this code was to be expected due to to the remap. I have a spare MAF which came with the car so could try that, by bypass valves due you mean diverter valves? If so then these are AMD Turbo Technics items although they probably are about 3 years old. Can these be serviced?
I will sort out some logging to check the MAF etc. What are the best things to log apart from Mass Air Flow?

If you log block 115 you will see both requested & actual boost values - you should be OK as long as your not running more than 1.5bar peak max. I would suggest you AMD valves need servicing if they haven't been touched for 3 years. Diverter vales = bypass valves = BPV = dump valves (which in the case of the S4/RS4 is technically incorrect).

Then we will need a Blutooth dongle...
