Just got VAGCOM how do i measure data?

Just got my VAGCOM today , managed to run a fault scan and nothing serious appeared, How do I do log which tells me whats happening when I am driving, eg expected boost v actual boost , maf reading etc?

There's an excellent online manual here :

Initially, I would use group 003 for ignition timing and mass airflow, and group 115 for boost.
