Hi guys, i've just hooked up the vag-com to try and see where my airbag light problem is coming from and checked the engine module but the codes don't mean much to me

- can anyone help decipher the codes into english?
This is the output I got from the engine module and airbag module:
VAG-COM Version: Release 311.2-N
Control Module Part Number: 8D0 907 551 C
Component and/or Version: 2.7l V6/5VT 0002
Software Coding: 05611
Work Shop Code: WSC 06325
3 Faults Found:
17963 - Charge Pressure: Maximum Limit Exceeded
P1555 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
17746 - Camshaft Pos.Sensor,Bank1 Open Circ./Short to B+
P1338 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
17538 - Long Term Fuel Trim mult.,Bank2 System too Lean
P1130 - 35-00 -
VAG-COM Version: Release 311.2-N
Control Module Part Number: 8D0 959 655 L
Component and/or Version: Airbag 7 Audi 0503
Software Coding: 00106
Work Shop Code: WSC 06325
1 Fault Found:
01218 - Side Airbag Igniter: Passenger Side (N200)
32-10 - Resistance too High - Intermittent
I can't tell if the airbag fault is the seat or in-dash bag but I but I would like to know before I part with mucho $$$$ at the stealers.
Cheers

17963 - Charge Pressure: Maximum Limit Exceeded
Most likely an air leek. Have a butchers around the pipes of the DV's and if they are frayed get them changed. Get the system pressure tested.
17746 - As for the cams it could be the hall sensor.
17538 = MAF maybe?
someone more knowlegeable will be along shortly I am sure.
Cheers

Pretty sure that's the passenger seat side airbag.
I'd be more worried about your engine codes if I were you...

Where in the country are you? I'd try and find a Specialist in your area before going to stealers.
Engine codes need looking into......

Airbag code looks like usual thing. With IGN OFF just get yourself under the seat and find the wires coming up out of the carpet under the middle of the seat. Find the connection and pull apart and push together again whilst "wiggling" it ! This is very common. I'm not sure if you have to reset fault codes to put out light on dash, but try it and see.
As above engine codes are more suspicious, worth clearing them at same time and see what comes back. Agree with dazzer

sticky dv's may be a lightly cause for max pressure exceeded.

Thanks guys for your input, i'm going to have a "fiddle" with the connector under the drivers seat - its pretty tough to manhandle even with the seat on maximum elevation! after a "quick fiddle" ill reset the code(s) and see what's what. Ill also do a quick reccy of the hoses for splits.
Ive no idea how long the codes could have been there suffice to say she drives alright with no hesitation or apparent loss of pressure. As I only get to use the car once a fortnight/week if Im lucky Ill just have to use it as an excuse to have a go up and down the newly built private dual runway
mikeyquattro Im between peterborough/huntingdon/cambridge area. If anyone has any recommendations of techies then please let me know, I only considered the stealer because of the airbag issue and its relatively close!

I would take a nice drive out to MRC at Banbury personally.

reset the codes first though and do a run. They MAY be spurious. If you can't find antyhing then off to MRC

Sounds like she will be glad of the extended run out.

I think 17963 is the one I had with a split TBB. It would open causing the turbos to overspin momentarily, then close, hence the overboost error.
MRC will pressure test and find any boost issues.
Best of luck.

As David says, excessive charge pressure results in turbo overspin. Lean fuel causes excessive exhaust temperature. These two alone are bad for the turbos. Together they are worse. Air leaks can result in Rich fuel not lean. Lean fuel is commonly caused by a MAF reading too low.
If you can't be bothered to go 90 miles for those DTCs, then sooner or later your weekly mileage may become zero.
