Folding Mirror Motor Fault Codes

My wife's 2012 Q7 has folding mirrors and the drivers side has stopped working but the passenger side is fine. The mirror adjustment works as normal, it is just the folding mirror motor.
A Vagcom scan reveals:-
02117 - Motor for Mirror Folding
006 Short to Plus
007 Short to Ground
Does this mean I have a failed motor or is it more likely to be a dodgy connection or a dodgy door control module?
A new mirror base alone is about £250 so I'd like to confirm the motor is dead before going down the replacement route.
