Hi all, I need some advice please 🙏🏻
I have recently bought an Audi RS5, when in dynamic mode only the drivers side exhaust flap opens up, is this ok or is it a fault?

Sounds faulty, what model year is your RS5?

They should both open the same time. The motors themselves can be bought direct through Audi, but the valves are part of the exhaust system so hopefully its not seized. Check the wiring to the connector.

They are quite simple but the motors do have an error signal if something isn't right. VCDS should pick it up if there is a problem. People sometimes disconnect the electrical connectors when the flaps are open to leave the cars in loud mode, but this would bring up an error - maybe Check Engine Light.

Actually scrub that, they might be vacuum operated on the RS5. Have a gander underneath and see if there is a rubber hose connected. You could just have a split pipe.

You sure they are both meant to open at the same time? I thought I read the latest gen RS cars can open one flap then the other.

On the B9.5 RS5 2021, when the car is in Comfort or Auto the left flap opens first at moderate throttle input, if your not aggressive with the throttle the Right won't open. If you use heavy throttle input even blipping the throttle the Left will open followed by the Right flap. It seems to be more dependent on engine load than anything else. The funny thing is, in Dynamic Mode they both open until you put the car in Drive then they close and then open based on rpm range despite throttle input.

I found the above post to be absolutely correct in my 2021 B9.5 RS5 as well. I also found that the exhaust simulators from burger motorsports, and a set I purchased from ebay didn't prevent the soft codes on mine. Unplug the valves and live with the soft codes seems to be my only choice.
