Advice please?

Just picked up an RS4 B7, upon getting it home I've noticed it stutters at low revs, like it wants to go but can't fully.
This only happens when driving sedately, give it a good boot and it seems ok.
It's maybe a dodgy spark plug or something.
Anyway, I also heard a whining noise that matches the engine, at first I thought it may just be the 4wdsystem but as you press the clutch in, the whine dies off and returns matching the engine note as soon as you come off the clutch.
A friend plugged his computer in and it gave the code P1577, right engine mount solenoid valve (N145) open circuit P1577 no signal/no communication
After a quick web search it seems the whine might be related to this too.
Can anyone help or advise please?
