Flashing traction light

Post by NickB5rs4 » Sun Mar 01, 2015 9:03 pm

Hi all, just a quickie.
Driving back today and several times trying to accelerate, car lost power and the traction control light Starts blinking.
Only seemed to do it in 3rd or 4th and only when trying to go quick. Hopefully it's a common thing and nothing too serious
It was very wet today but can't see why that would make any difference. Just had new tyres fitted on rear and it's always raining here anyway.

Anyone got any ideas?

You are losing traction probably because you are trying to accelerate and it's very wet.
What car is it and what tyres you running? I know you have B5rs4 in your name but lots of people have cars other than what they actually drive in their name. And is it modded?
Although it is normally fine in the rain, my B7 will lose traction if floored in the wet with rubbish tyres. Or if you have a 500bhp B5 then it is not surprising.
How long have you had the car? Or in other words has it only just started doing this or have you only just bought the car?

It's likely, down to the tread depth different front to rear.
