Turn off TPMS B7 RS4

Post by EuroSag » Wed Mar 06, 2013 10:48 pm

Can the TPMS be disabled via Vag-Com?

And if so, where abouts is it to be found?

Cheers :)

Yes it can. I think it's under instrument, can't remember the channel but I remember you subtract 512. I'll have a little google.

Had to turn mine off too as none of my local garages wanted to remove the tyres, fit the new sensors then replace the tyres. Gotta wait till I get new tyres.

What has he done to try and solve the problem?

I has something similar and it was all down to a tyre pressure mismatch of 4 psi between the wheels. A quick check of the front pillar of what they should be and tyre pressures changed to match along with a wheel change entry on the computer and it solved my problem buddy.

He told me that when purchased the car the old owner removed them when he the tyres were changed. Put new valves in without sensors ( must be a back street job)

Looks like the link has changed since May.
Try Here:
http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.ph ... C/8ED/8HE)

You need to go into the Intrusment Cluster, select channel 061, make a note of the current value (just in case you mess anything up), then subtract 512 from it.
