Odd DTC
RE: Odd DTC
Never seen that one. However SSP 198 (in S4 downloads, docs) covers G28 sensor. G28 is the crank position sensor, timed of the flywheel, page 54 and 55. Tells you pretty much everything you need to know. It says if the sensor is non functional the car won't start. I'd check the wiring, if good, replace the sensor. Could be the source of your misfire and curious performance problems, if the engine isn't timing properly because it is getting occasionally erroneous or weak readings.

RE: Odd DTC
I was thinking along the same lines, note: some VW's I have known about have this unit failed - crudely speaking - its picking up crankshaft rotation telling the Motronic to give it a spark and release the gee gee's..... whoosh were off - change it anyway if you receive that code, or you may have an RAC or AA brainless trying to locate and fix your car if it fails - which we dont want really .....

happy dayz .... party ....
