Damn Skoda Fabia's!

Post by Nobby » Wed Nov 07, 2012 1:25 pm

A friend at work was having a problem with his Skoda's temperature sensor/dial and asked if I could have a go a look at it for him.

After plugging in both my Gendan code reader and VCDS laptop, nothing seemed to connect. It was only then that I found out about that fitting an aftermarket radio shorts out a certain pin on the OBD connectors.

So, both my Gendan and my VCDS cable are now kapput.

So more details on the problem

Thats good to know Chris, thanks for blowing yours up to save others
I have an aftermarket headunit in mine and Vagcom is still working, i did by the proper Kenwood-Audi kit though so that may have helped.

Very good post though and could save a lot of Vagcoms!
