New car purchase

Hi
Had a code when inspecting a B5 RS4 today:

17862 P1454 Exhaust gas temperature sensor 1-G235:low

Can anyone advise/confirm this is not serious and an approximate cost for repair/replacement?

Probably better posting this in the B5 forum.

An EGT sensor isn't a serious problem. Price depends on which side it is as one is harder to get to than the other. I think from memory Bank 1 could be the drivers side, and if so, it's the 'easier' one to do. Sensors were around £160-170 when I last had one changed I think.
