Sorry but that is NOT a VAG-COM cable - it's a third party rip-off (the proof of that is that it will only run 409.1, a genuine cable will run the latest download of - currently - 812 beta).

That cable will NOT do everything a genuine cable will - some adaptation channels will not be accessible and some "difficult" controllers (like the one at address #77) will not be accessible at all.

Don't save money now to buy stress later when you can't fix your car - get the real thing.

Hi Dave, you are correct it is a "3rd party rip-off". Apologies if my previous submission was misleading. If anyone is looking for a cheaper alternative using older software for a RS4 B5 this is a potential option. If this submission is upsetting Ross-Tech supporters feel free to express yourself and i'll remove the posting. On another note the guys at Ross-Tech turn around activation codes very promptly, even when they know your using a "3rd party rip off".

Hi Shaun.
I am a very recent user to VAG-COM only purchased a week ago, and already paid for itself (see battery change thread). As recomended by others go for Ross Tech, service superb, very quick delivery and tracking via Fedex, Top company IMHO.
Cheers Steve
