cant reset the brake warning light
RE: cant reset the brake warning light
I checked two things one is the sensor on the brake fluid bottle was damaged, and the muppet who had the car before me when changing the the speed sensor must of broke the clip and decided to crimp the wires on so he could of mixed the wires up will sort the bottle first and see what happens

Speed sensor faults wont cause the DIS (!) symbol to illuminate, only ABS light.I checked two things one is the sensor on the brake fluid bottle was damaged, and the muppet who had the car before me when changing the the speed sensor must of broke the clip and decided to crimp the wires on so he could of mixed the wires up will sort the bottle first and see what happens
I'd go for the bottle.
Contigo, is your DIS symbol a (!) or a (O) as the latter is brake pad wear sensor, the former is fluid level.

I reckon your ABS module is shot. 3 beeps and red brake signal does not indicated brake pad wear. That is amber and only beeps once
Tomorrow is another day
RE: cant reset the brake warning light
but 3 beeps could be from the bottle

just a thought..
Have you tried braking hard to see if the abs cuts in?

No but I have done a brake test with vag com and if the controller was down I should not be able to get into it with vag com even Doug was puzzled with this problem but as neckarsulm as said the speed sensor will not bring up the fault on the dis it must be the sensor on the bottle

3 beeps means low fluid which is a bit more urgent than low brake pads - this is controlled by the 2 wire loom to the brake fluid reservoir cap.
You definitely don't get DIS faults when the ABS controller is shot, just a permanently on ABS warning light.
It's weird but the faults displayed in the DIS as opposed to traditional DTCs (that bring on the 'check engine light' or ABS warning light) are completely separate - I think it's because they are something the driver is expected to check and fix while the trad DTCs require decoding using VAG COM etc.
Could still be the cluster itself though
