Turbo related codes

Post by hethers » Thu Aug 09, 2007 4:00 pm

Hi all

What sort of codes would a knackered / failing / noisey turbo produce? In other words what should I see from vag-com if there is a problem? Or can they go without throwing any codes??

You could try doing some runs and checking your boost/maf readings as a starting point.

Requested and Actual boost would let you know if there was a boost leak - Think it's block 115

Doubt you would get any error codes for a dying turbo though. As far as I know, there aren't any sensors in a turbo, it's a purely mechanical beast.

If the boost is down badly you will get "Charge pressure lower limit not reached"
