Hello everyone

i have a V8 R8 and every so often i get a lot of oil from the exhaust on startup.

This doesnt happen everytime nor does it need to be sitting for a period of time, its kind of random?

Anyone else have this experience?

Pretty normal.

I had an R8 loan for 4 months and it reminded me some days of when i used to Redex my lawnmower.

The final final benchmark is what your oil consumption is: i suspect that you'll find it within limits. These cars tend to use a fair bit - seems to be part of the design in order to sacrifice oil for cylinder wear.

Oddly enough on the RS4, an ECU upgrade/update to version 0090 (which i think is an 'on request' update) made my RS4 hugely improved in this regard - don't know whether such update is available for the R8.
