Nice curves, shame they can't extend the rev range more ...

Was in the local dealer on Friday having a good nose around. They had a press release on this model, looks splendid.
Some interesting features dial that go red when you are in track mode. One for Simon me thinks.
Also the sat nav has most racetracks included, for those that get lost on track days??

Yes, it looks great and I'm all for it. No coincidence that they launch in the US, or that all the R10 TDI racing (apart from Le-Mans) takes place there.

I think it will be faster than the figures too

An Audi R series with a TDI engine ?

MUAHAHAHAHA !!

*Starts the "I told you so for ages" dance*

Sorry but that was a truly easy joke.

That being said, this looks nice but a bit disappointing.

Audi should really learn about respecting uber-cars ranking again.

You can't claim the V8 RS4 420hp is an uber car and then release V10 S6-S8 with more HP.

You can't claim the R8 V12 TDI 500hp is an uber car and then release an RS6 V10 580 hp in the meantime.

Those german folks really sub-pressed me, don't they think we read and compare ?

An uber R8 less powerful than an A6 Avant ?

Darn... please Audi, go loot a clue about PR and marketing ...

Taipan, please read up about the difference between torque and BHP. I'll wait here until you've done so.

Done?

Good.

You'll note that this has the same amount of torque as a stock B5 S4 has in total delivered TO EACH WHEEL. It'll come flying out of corners and leave you for dust in the acelleration stakes. You're just a slightly moving obstacle to drive around.

Shudders to think what this will sound like. Certainly looks amazing, a lot more agressive than the regular R8, but like I said, sounding like a Transit won't do it any favours.
A Mercedes owner knows they made the wrong decision when their car rusts like a Lancia.

A BMW owner knows they made the wrong decision when their car is more common than a Mondeo.

An Audi owner knows they made the right decicision when they fly by the Mercedes and BMW owners.
