Cross drilled disc's

Having just taken delivery of my R8 I have noticed that some of the "cross holes" on the disc's are not holes. They are solid
Seems very odd to me. Any other owners experience this on their R8 or any other car to that matter

I think I would enjoy a Skoda more than the DB9 lemon
